Needing to keep only one wall of the existing house gave us a clean slate to build on. This project required meticulous planning of each subtrade to ensure the impact on the neighbours and community were kept to a minimum. This design was inspired by a modern A-Frame cottage, with a dark, moody exterior and warm wood accents. The architecture of this house is stunning on the inside and out, with unique windows, second-storey overhang, and vaulted ceilings. This house is complete with a custom walnut kitchen, unique wood slat wall along the staircase, and colour-drenching paint on the upper floors. Since this house had only a crawl space and no basement, we added a utility room on the main floor to hold the electrical panel, tankless water heater, and furnace.
