Every new year brings evolutions of styles and emerging trends in home renovation, and 2025 is no different! This year is shaping up to feature bold colour palettes, smart home technology integrations, and rich textures throughout the home. We’d like to share our thoughts on the 2025 home renovation trends, maybe inspiring you to bring your living space to life, whether it’s a small update or full remodel!
Embrace Colour this Year
2025 is the year to go big with colour throughout your home! Colour palette trends over the last few years have been on the safe side, with neutral greys, whites, and beige leading the way. This year more and more people will discover that adding colour isn’t scary when it is done with intent and direction. Incorporating warm browns, earthy greens or calming blues to your design will add personality and interest to your space.
One of our favourite ways to add colour to a space is with bold colour drenching, as seen in our East 8th project. Colour drenching is exactly as it suggests: we use a single paint colour on the walls, trim, and ceiling to create a unified, dramatic look.

Bring Back Rich Wood Cabinetry
Rich wood cabinetry is back and better than ever. Although white will always be timeless, more and more clients are opting for warm, rich woods like walnut for their cabinetry. These deep tones make the space feel cozy, inviting, and timeless in their own right.
Aside from the earthy aesthetic that wood cabinetry brings to the design, it will typically appear newer for longer, since the texture of the wood grain does a great job of camouflaging inevitable wear and tear.
We’ve partnered with a talented cabinetry manufacturer based outside of Hamilton, Ontario. They have an extensive selection of wood species and tones for our clients to choose from. Our showroom in Ancaster, Ontario has various sample doors for our clients to see for themselves.
Integrate Smart Technology into your Home
Technology is always advancing rapidly, and with every passing day we see more ways to use tech to make our day-to-day lives easier and more enjoyable. Smart home technology has exploded in popularity, and shows no sign of slowing down. If you’ve had your eye on smart home tech for a while, home renovation projects are the perfect time to add it to your home. Here are some of our smart home technology staples:
- Smart Speakers and Lighting: Control your home speaker and lighting systems through voice control or via an app on your phone.
- App-Controlled Thermostats: Take control over your energy usage and reduce costs any time, from anywhere, while keeping your spaces comfortable.
- Motorized Window Coverings: Maximize natural lighting usage while maintaining privacy.
- Home Security Systems: Stay connected to your home through cameras and entry prevention while you’re at work or on holiday.
Smart technology doesn’t just have functional use; it can make your space more fun too! On a recent project in Flamborough, Ontario we installed a golf simulator in the two-storey garage addition we completed.

Make Bold Statements with Natural Stone Accents
Adding natural stone to a design is a time-honoured way to make the space feel grounded and luxurious. You can make use of marble, granite, or slate in various ways, including flooring, countertops, accent walls, and fireplace surrounds. Stone is durable and comes in a wide variety of colours, finishes, and sizes, making it great for any room of the home. Each of these materials enhances the visual and tactile experience of a space, making it feel both earthy and sophisticated.
